I have never had a feeling that I live in a mad world. I changed my mind today.
I was listening to the radio this morning during breakfast. I was chewing cold pizza (because our microwave oven is moody), when it happened. I did not choke, but the news report I have heard made me put my piece down and stare with unbelieving eyes at the radio set.
The radio station "Maximum" began its' news report on 8:19am. The first piece of news was about Navalnyi, who was about to get diabet because of all oranges and chocolates people kept sending him during his famous 15-day imprisonment.
And then: "Opposition activist girls in Belorussia who were reported lost yesterday were found today. They said they have been arrested by the police who kept them in a driving van all night. Then they were taken to the forest, undressed, and the police poured oil on them, threatening to set fire. Afterwards they were released, but their hair has been cut".
Next piece of news was about Lady Gaga who has bought so much diapers for her newlyparent friend that they would last for a year.
The DJs who led the programme happily discussed the story of activist girls, joked about Lady Gaga, and the morning went on.
I feel like I am losing my mind. Does it really sound as if nothing terrible happened?
